Although not officially our first date, the first time we hung out together alone was at the 2002 Mermaid Parade.

The Cyclone was an excellent excuse to sit close and lean up against each other, but the mood was killed when Astroland’s pirate ship made us both terribly nauseous.

During the many summers that followed, we returned to Coney Island for dates.

In April 2010, after a stroll on the Boardwalk and lunch at Totonnos, we went to ride the Cyclone. Melissa turned for a second to buy tickets, and when she turned around, Nick was on his knees with an engagement ring.

The answer was yes!!!
